South Stream Dairy has been owned by the Pye family for more than 40 years and was converted to dairy in 2006 – with the new team getting a memorable introduction when a major Canterbury snowstorm hit shortly after they moved in.

Over the years, additional land has been purchased alongside the farm, including an adjoining support block now used by the wider dairy support team, while the dairy itself is fully irrigated with in-shed feeding, Protrack and cow collars.

South Stream is contract milked by Leighton and Katie, with Leighton having joined Pye Group in 2017 at Dialan 1 before progressing through the Group to South Stream.
