What We Do
Pye Group's arable operation spans from south of the Rangitata River to north of the Rakaia, thousands of hectares of some of the best Canterbury cropping land.
Using modern equipment and precise, data-informed growing practices, our team grows high-quality potatoes, carrots, cereals and seed for customers here and around the world. And much of what we grow feeds our own dairy herds.

Potatoes
We grow around 20,000 tonnes of potatoes a year for McCain Foods, processed into fries for customers including McDonalds and KFC. Seven varieties in all, mainly Russet Burbank, Innovator and Shepody.

Carrots
Approximately 26,000 tonnes of carrots a year, grown and washed right here on farm in Mid Canterbury, then transported to Juice Products for processing. We grow orange, yellow and purple varieties, all pressed for juice and sent mostly to Asia.

Grain
We grow around 18,000 tonnes of wheat and barley each year. Much of it stays within the business, feeding our own dairy herds as grain and straw.
Other Crops
We also grow grass seeds and other small seeds, peas, kale, fodder beet and oats. Some feeds our stock through winter; some travels further — our turf ryegrass is exported for sports fields and golf courses overseas.
Transport
A modern fleet of trucks and fertiliser spreaders, moving crops, feed and supplies across Canterbury.
Dairy Operations
Our fourteen dairy farms are home to some of the region's most experienced contract milkers.
Dairy Support
The grazing, wintering and youngstock that keep our dairy farms running strong through every season.
Support Team
Mechanics, maintenance and office teams who keep every part of the operation running smoothly.
