Grantlea 1 is located on the Rangitata-Orari Bridge Highway, midway between Timaru and Ashburton.

It is a fully irrigated, grass-based system with in-shed feeding, Protrack and cow collars, and is also home to the largest irrigation pond by area in the Group – a great recreational spot that attracts an abundance of birdlife.

Grantlea 1 is contract milked by Jimmy and Charlotte, who have been with Pye Group since 2014 and progressed to the farm from Dialan 2. Jimmy is actively involved in Federated Farmers, while together they have been early supporters of DairyNZ’s Next Gen programme, helping encourage and develop the next generation of people into the dairy industry.
